A busy week

Worked till 1 plus in the morning on Wed. Was half dead by the time Fri swung by. Squid commented that when I work, she worries. Kauri asked if we were going to war. PY was ignoring me due to raincheck on Italy.

Saw G online. He asked how was life. I told him to read my blog for updates. He asked if this meant that he can no longer just icq me how's life? I laughed. G said he made my blog his homepage. Wah, I'm touched.

Met up with Squid and PY in Chinatown for dinner.
Meeting Beano again later for dinner. Hopefully I wont turn weepy.

Cant believe its Sunday already. Where did the weekend go?
Have yet to work on assignments. I am so freaking dead.

A Blue Tuesday

Left office at 10 plus today...no it should be tonight. Ate dinner at close to midnight. I wondered if I was eating dinner, supper or breakfast.

Busy period coming right up. The next few weeks will be hell. People say life has a way of making you eat your words. Please life, I'm really hungry right now.

Received credit card bill. It is at a 3-year low. Wanted to jump for joy, but realised a few major expenses have yet to roll in and sobered down. Next month's bill may resemble the ST index. Arghhhhh!

Bought my blades on sunday. Excitement over blades was tapered by the surly service. Singaporeans have no natural affirmity for the service industry. He asked me if I needed to try the blades on both feet. How 'duh' a question is that?

This doesnt beat the HRC experience. Ordered the brownie and specified for it to be served minus the whipped cream. As usual, given the crowd, they forgot. When we reminded the waitress of the mistake, guess what she said? She went 'hah?!'. Yes, 'hah'. Then came the one liner of the century - 'If I pass you a plate, could you scoop it out yourselves?'

Watching chocolate factory and tales of narnia with squid. Thanks to the rest for offering.Bangkok looming on the horizon.

Junior, I need the contact no of the agency you went to. Merci beaucoup.

Monday Blues

Worked till 9 plus today. It is a mad world we live in.

Turkish dinner cancelled since 2 could not make it. Replaced with dinner at club street on sat. ....chuckle...ever noticed squid, that half the time, its just you and me? wry grin

Broke bad news to PY that I would not be able to do the Italy trip and humbly apologised. She replied with a sad smiley and said she didnt want to talk to me. Trust me girl, I really do want to go. However, that window isnt a right time, and I dont print money.

Trip in Aug seems right on cue. Need a short break. Options include Phuket, Bangkok and Angkor Wat. At the moment, I think we're heading to Bangkok. 3rd time in 3 years I'm going there. How come my luck isnt this good in 4D? Oh yeah, I forgot, I dont even buy 4D.

G said the title of my blog seems like I'm trying to figure out some stuff. Squid commented on being cynical as the years go by or something like that. Was eating murtabak while reading the msg, with a cute guy at the next table and dad in front of me. So pardon me if some bits didnt quite sink in. wink!

For those who wish to know, the inspiration came from the lyrics of the song 'As time goes by'. Check it out. It'll be worth your effort.

If 'As time goes by' doesnt ring a bell, you may perhaps recognise it instead if I said its the theme song of Casablanca. Had opted for Lalaland but it was taken. Oh well.

Life is but a dream

Was on the train to work the other day, when I heard a child sing the following nursery rhyme.

'Row, row, row your boat
Gently down the stream
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily,
Life is but a dream.'

Life is but a dream. How appropriate.

Met friend for dinner at Hard Rock on Friday. Saw a guy so cute, my heart almost stopped beating. Yes, THAT cute.

Realized that I have yet to start on my assignments, yet to buy my blades, yet to plan for trip. Where have all those hours gone? By the way, this is a rhetoric question. I am not looking for answers.

Oh well, look on the bright side of life. Plans for next week so far look interesting. Meeting a long time friend for a farewell dinner over the weekend. Another group of friends are planning a Turkish buffet and dance. Squid's latest food fad seems to be Turkish. I remembered our Mexican food craze a year or so back and smiled. In the pipeline is also a trip with girlfriend to destination unknown in Aug 05. Things are looking up indeed.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe should be opening soon. Wonder how it would be like to re-read the books of my childhood again before watching the shows. Would they hold me enthralled, like they did many years ago? Perhaps, sometimes, in life, one should be less uptight. Oh what the heck, will just go and watch the show.
Any takers to watch with me?
